THIS WEBSITE IS FUNDED BY THE GENEROUS SUPPORT FROM:

Welcome to Health Care Access
PURPOSE
- To improve access to health care benefits for immigrant victims of domestic violence by clarifying the relevant laws and government agencies which control immigrant access to benefits
- To make it easier for HHSA workers to understand how immigrant victims qualify for benefits
- To make it easier for victim advocates and attorneys to guide their clients though the benefits system
PROBLEM
- Although laws exist to give some immigrant victims access to state or federal
public benefits, many victims are denied or do not apply because of the complicated
nature of the laws
- Different government systems (federal and state benefits laws and county
implementation, immigration laws, social security administration) which overlap
and have limited communication with each other
